Owning Your Data

Do you own your customer data with Aisle?

Groflo.io vs. Aisle

Aisle is a great platform for tracking in-store purchase attribution and building your customer SMS database.

But, when customers agree to an SMS-based offer on the Aisle platform, they tick a box that says they consent to SMS messages from Aisle on your company's behalf. (see image) They do not consent to SMS messages from you. Not terrible, unless you want to switch digital coupon providers.

Aisle, like Groflo, will let you download your customer data that they have gathered on their platform. But these customers have only opted-in to messages from Aisle, not you. So technically, if you send them messages you are violating SPAM laws.

When someone opts into a coupon offer on Groflo, they tick two boxes. One consenting to receiving messages from Groflo and one consenting to receiving messages from you. We believe that the customer data we gather belongs to you and hope that you will stay with us. But if you feel that we are not providing value to you, your opted-in customer data is yours and you can legally contact them.

Is your digital coupon provider building a database of customers for you, or for them?
